Newborn Photos

These are some of Tre's Newborn pix that we had taken at 2 weeks. Thanks to our friend Carly for taking them. They turned out great!

Tre is already three weeks old tomorrow! I can't believe it. He is such a sweet little boy and seems to be changing everyday. A few things about him...A few days ago we went to the doctor and they took his measurements. He was in the 5th percentile in weight and 7th in height. He is just a tiny little guy. He is small but is so strong. When those nurses try to give him pricks on his feet he isnt afraid to kick them and put some force to it. Maybe we have a little soccer player? He loves to cuddle and always falls right to sleep when I hold him or put him on my chest. He also makes the funniest faces of all time. ha. I will wake up at 4:00 in the morning dead tired with my body aching badly and I will look at him and just start laughing out loud. He is always smiling in his sleep. So cute. I love this little boy!

Born: September 8, 2010 (My Due Date!)
Weight: 6 lbs. 9 oz.
Height: 19 in.

Delivery Timeline (more for me to remember):

• Tuesday at 5 p.m. I had my membranes stripped and I was cramping pretty bad shortly after.
  
• That night at 6:15 the bishop came over to give me a calling. (ha. odd timing.
  
• Starting at 3 a.m. I started having period like cramps, not really what I was expecting my contractions to feel like.


• A few hours later at about 6 I got in the shower and started getting things ready to go to the hospital.


• The contractions were getting more and more painful so I decided to call the doctor and go see when I could go into the hospital. This was at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.


• The doctor told me that I was dilated to a 4 and was 90% effaced at that point and that I should wait about an hour and a half and then go to the hospital.
• My mom showed up as soon as we got back to our apartment. I started walking circles in our tiny apartment living room. I would stop and lean my head up against the wall whenever I felt a contraction and Ka'ihe had his stopwatch in hand counting in between each contraction.
  
• At 5:30 we got to the hospital. I was expecting to get an epidural as soon as I got there. In our prenatal classes they would always say that 4+ was the best time for the epidural. I was at a 4 and 100% effaced.


• By 6:15 I was dilated to 5 cm.
• At 6:40 I finally got my epidural which was amazing when I was at a 6! I was in excruciating pain up until this point. It wasn't painful like the first one I had gotten for my version 3 weeks earlier and I was feeling better in a matter of seconds.


• At 7:55 they gave me a very small amount of petosin to help me dilate a little more.


• At 8:03 the doctor came in and broke my water.


• 8:58 We decided on the name Tre Kahelemeakua after talking to Ka'ihes grandma for her approval.
  
• 9:15 -9cm and sucking on a tootsie pop and ice. I was really enjoying myself. =)
• 9:40 Started pushing-pushed for about 15 minutes. The nurse told me to stop pushing and to wait for the doctor. (pushed for 20 minutes total) I pushed so hard that I tore my vaginal wall in three different places.
  
• 10:07 Baby Tre was born


• After he was born the doctor was stitching me up for an hour while Tre just layed on my stomach. The doc had to use 5 souchers compared to the normal 1 to sew me up, and had 25 towels soaked in my blood. My mom was freaking out a little bit. I was just staring at my baby boy admiring him and was clueless as to what was going on.


• Now I am a mommy! It has been so much harder than I ever thought. Having problems with breastfeeding, struggling with his really bad jaundice, close to no sleep at all, and a husband that is so busy that I rarely see, along with everything else. But I love being a mom and love Tre more than I ever thought possible!
